Aegon Insights is the direct marketing arm of the Aegon Group in the Asia Pacific region. Having specialized expertise in the design and sales distribution of protection products, Aegon Insights provides direct insurance solutions for business partners and their customers; from innovative product development, to customer analytics insights with actionable models, marketing campaign and multi-channel distribution design; through to assistance with policy administration and retention.
Richard has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry spanning a range of professional functions. Starting his insurance career as an actuarial student at Eagle Star Life Insurance Hong Kong, Richard went on to work for Winterthur Life Hong Kong, as Vice President – Actuarial, and joined Aegon Insights as Director of Strategy & Business Assessment in 2006, to establish the foundation of the regional office.Based on his continued success and demonstrated leadership, Richard was soon appointed to the role of Chief Commercial Officer, which was then followed by a progression to Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2015, positioning him for his current role as President, Aegon Insights Asia Pacific. He is also a member of the Aegon Global Leadership Team.Throughout his time with Aegon Insights, Richard has led the business to establish successful operations in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand and most recently China and has been instrumental in transforming the business to have a true customer focus and scientific approach to direct marketing distribution.Richard holds a Bachelor Degree of Mathematics with a double major in Actuarial Science and Statistics from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He is also a fellow member of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and charterholder of Charter Financial Analyst (CFA).
As Chief Insights and Analytics Officer, Juan is responsible for the development and implementation of the best-in-class Customer Analytics strategy and data platform, and the delivery of analytics solutions for the Asia Pacific Region. Juan is an analytics professional with both hands-on and leadership experience in leveraging data analytics for pricing, sales, and marketing across various distribution channels and insurance segments.
He possesses extensive experience in financial services in the UK and across the Asia Pacific Region. Most recently, Juan was the Regional Head of CRM at Ageas Asia where he was responsible for the development and implementation of CRM strategies for their subsidiaries and JV partners.
Prior to that, Juan was heading up Cigna's China Customer Value Management team and Global Modelling Team of the Global COE of Analytics. In that role, Juan focused on providing value-added services of marketing analytics and campaign management to affinity partners and his China team were rated top in data analytics by the partners in 3 consecutive years. Juan also held various analytics positions at Prudential (Asia) and Allianz (UK).
Juan has a Bachelor degree in Mathematics & Applied Mathematics from South China Normal University, and a Master degree in Operational Research and PhD in Management Science from Lancaster University in the UK. His research interests include consumer behaviour, marketing analytics, as well as BIG DATA.
Masato Okabe is Chief Strategic Partnership Officer of Aegon Inights Japan. As a key executive in business development domain, Masato has successfully fostered long-standing robust working relationships with over 25 business partners together with Aegon Inights Japan's insurance partners. After joining Transamerica Direct Marketing Japan, a successor of Aegon Inights Japan, in 2004, Masato had served director roles for its CRM division and Call Center Operations Division, and since 2008, he has been leading Aegon Inights Japan's Strategic Partnership Division and energetically exploring new business partners. He also serves as "Privacy Mark Officer" to ensure Aegon Inights Japan's compliant operations and is a member of the Foreign Non-Life Insurance Association (FNLIA ).Prior to joining Aegon Inights Japan, Masato worked for Qantas Airways in Australia for more than 10 years and returned to Japan to take on the role as CRM senior manager for Prestige international Inc., a BPO service provider, in 2000.Masato has an experience in studying in Australia and holds a bachelor's degree in management.
Naoyuki Murayama has spent more than 22 years in commercial financing and insurance industries and he has developed his career mainly in finance, corporate finance and business integration.
Since 1995, Naoyuki has always worked in international working environment and dealt with team management, project management as well as strategic planning. Most recently in AIG Fuji Life and Allianz Fire and Marine, he played CFO role and mainly focused on process improvement, business planning as well as capital planning.
Naoyuki also worked in Connecticut, USA working for GE Capital since 2000 where he further gained his multi-cultural problem solving skill and management skill which also successfully led to his recent career.
Naoyuki joined Aegon Insights Japan in 2014. He holds a bachelor of economics from University of Tsukuba.
Miki Koiwai joined Aegon Insights Japan in 2016 with 20 years of experience in B2B and B2C marketing, corporate communications and business development in the financial industry.As the Chief Marketing Officer of Aegon Insights Japan, Miki now oversees all the marketing functions and provides directions on how to create effective campaigns for the business partners.Miki worked at General Electric (GE) for about 15 years taking on key management positions and leading strategic growth initiatives across different lines of consumer and commercial finance business. The last position she held at GE was Director of Sales and Marketing at GE's joint venture, Nissen GE Credit Co., Ltd. Prior to taking the current role in 2016, Miki oversaw all B2B marketing programs and corporate communication initiatives at Mastercard.Miki has a Master's Degree in International Affairs from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., USA, and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Waseda University.
